Exactly there is obviously is a long list of massive advantages for the ultra free marketeers that engineered the whole thing, though it probably just comes down to the usual 2 things, money and power
Some of us knew this all along. Much to do with conforming to standards – yes, a bit of a pain to start with, but once you get the hang of it its easy.
Of course Brexit Spivs will cut corners, sell cheaper and we will prosper. Until the customer finds the things won’t fit/ catch fire/ fail testing/not covered by insurance etc. – a bit like cheap Chinese stuff years ago. But Chinese learn quickly- will conform to standards – UK will have no chance outside EU.
